EU Funding for the Green Transition: Understanding Funding Logic and Improving Your Project’s Fit for EU Funding

This is a self-paced, on-demand video course, with around 90 minutes of video in total. The course is structured into six short, focused modules:

1) The EU Green Deal – the policy engine behind the funding
How the EU Green Deal and related policies shape what gets funded, and the underlying logic of EU funding for the green transition

2) EU-level funding programmes
An introduction to the main programmes and funding routes, including Horizon Europe – with a dedicated focus on green transition-relevant Missions, Partnerships and EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) – as well as LIFE, the Innovation Fund, the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and Erasmus+

3) EU funding managed nationally and regionally
Explore funding opportunities under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Cohesion Fund, Interreg, Just Transition Fund and European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), as well as how these funding routes are accessed in practice

4) Practice: Matching project ideas with the right funding programmes
Work through real-world project examples and then use a guided self-assessment to identify suitable funding routes for your own project idea

5) Building a fundable EU project concept
Learn the key building blocks of a strong project: strategic fit with EU priorities, project design, partners and stakeholders, solution maturity, impact and long-term sustainability

6) Before you start writing: Proposal must-haves
Understand what needs to be in place before you start drafting, and the core elements a strong EU funding application needs to demonstrate
